Did you know that Wilmington has a RIVERWALK that runs almost the full width of the city on the Riverfront?
It is walkway that is over a 1 1/2 mile long that is built on the Cape Fear River and runs right across Wilmington. It has big dock spaces where boats can pull up and dock for the night. It has restaurants, riverboats, shops, stores and a hotel along side it. You can even see the War Memorial across from the Battleship North Carolina.
It is the center of a lot of the city festivities including: the Azalea Festival and the huge street Riverfest which is the 1st weekend in October. You can even see a sailing ship there and an occasional pirate. Soon there will be a Convention Center with another hotel along the walk too.
